You can generally understand the quality of automobile sheet metal parts

Generally speaking, we can judge from two aspects: body and surface covering. Next, let's say one by one, but we need to pay attention to one thing. Here's the method you can use as an ordinary car buyer to go to the 4S shop. Because it doesn't involve special tools, it's not professional, but with them you can generally understand the quality of automobile sheet metal parts.

The function of body is self-evident. As a place to hold goods and passengers, firmness is an important index to measure its performance. To make the body stronger, the use of high-strength steel is on the one hand, and on the other hand, depends on the quality of the sheet metal, which is mainly reflected by the strength of the connection.

Automobile sheet metal parts

We all know that several ways of body connection are: resistance welding (spot welding), laser welding, riveting, gluing, plasma welding, etc. At present, resistance welding and laser welding are mainly used in automobile manufacturing industry. They are different in welding principle, so the sheet metal effect of body is not the same.

In recent years, laser welding has been talked about in the media circle, and has become the selling point of many models often mentioned by the sales. The so-called laser welding is an efficient and precise welding method which uses high energy density laser beam as the heat source. The welding process belongs to the heat conduction type, that is, the laser radiation heats the surface of the workpiece, the heat on the surface is guided by the heat transfer to the internal diffusion, and the workpiece is melted and a specific melting pool is formed by controlling the width, energy, peak power and repetition frequency of the laser pulse.

However, compared with laser welding, resistance welding (which is known as "spot welding") appears earlier and has a wider range of applications. Resistance welding is a method to press the welding part between the two electrodes through the electrode arm of the welding gun, and apply current. It uses the resistance thermal effect generated by the current flowing through the contact surface of the workpiece and the adjacent area to heat it to the melting or plastic state, so as to form a metal combination.

How to distinguish the two kinds of welding? In fact, it's very simple. If the welding position is a smooth weld, it's laser welding. It's resistance welding. These two welding methods are used in many parts of the car body, such as the roof and side wall.
